Permaculture Designer

MELİKE MÜEZZİNOĞLU

Melike Muezzinoglu, is mother to a son, an activist soil-keeper farmer and Nature photographer. She has founded MALVA Biofarm& Arboretum, MALVA Mills and MALVA Academy based in the Great Plain in Silivri, Turkey.

Her drive for the conservation of Nature comes from her close relationship to the Natural world in her early childhood. Her middle and high school education in Switzerland has had an important influence in the appreciation of Nature in a wider context. Melike has earned a B.A. university degree, later on followed by an Environmental Sciences Masters studies. She has quit the latter to be more active in soil keeping against urbanization and  ran her thesis project at the farm.

As a permaculture designer, Melike has been developing the farm bio agro-ecosystem focusing on native tree&plants and heirloom seeds. Her passion to witness the development of biodiversity has led to the foundation of the international education concept she leads:  ‘Introducing Biodiversity to New Generations with Permaculture’. An active member of BGCI and ArbNet, she provides Environmental and Nature Protection Trainings in Turkey and abroad, carries out design and application projects.
